History
Our story starts way back, when we started to pray at home together

- Trifena Emovon is a church secretary
- Mother of five (four girls and a boy)
- She is an evangelist with a mission to increase the “soul harvest” of the kingdom of
God - She is a prayer warrior who takes pleasure in hospital administration, praying for the
sick - She supports orphanages with regular visits
- She is co-founder of Perrls with a passion for ministry and prayer
- Nonhlanhla is an Estate Agent since 2020
- She is an entrepreneur having founded a shuttle service that transports
Government employees as well as scholars - She is a former banker, having worked in Vehicle and Asset Finance for
some years, which is where her passion for a transporting business was
born. - She is a wife, a mother of four and shareholder in a number of women
group initiatives designed to empower and uplift women economically. - She has for years had a dream for being part of an orphanage project
that incorporates mentorship of children and is working on making this
dream a reality.
- Thandile Nxumalo is a seasoned entrepreneur and a specialist in the field of business development and stakeholder management
- She is the Group Chief Executive Officer of the AlphSZ Group of companies formely Sanlam Eswatini Group
- She is a founder of, participant, advisor and shareholder in a number of women group initiatives designed to empower and uplift women economically, her passion
- She is an avid bookclub member, desiring to establish one for Christian woman
- She is an admitted as a lawyer to the High Court of Swaziland, a Barrister at Law of Lincoln’s Inn London. London School of Economics and Political Science LLB (Hons) & Graduate School of Business Cape-Town (MBA). She is a graduate of two united world colleges (Eswatini/Italy). She has a Certificate in Theology (Faith Bible College)
Timeline
- 2000’s membership of a conventional bookclub, sharing stories and creating lasting friendships.
- 2014 – 2017 conversations with various women about establishing a bookclub with a twist. Creating a bookclub where women share meals and “Soul Food”.
- 2021 African Pearls founders begin to pray together and launch African Pearls in Johannesburg December 2021. The intention is to both share stories and publish them. Further, to showcase and promote stories that are “food for the soul” by existing Christian authors as Bookclub guests.
- 2022-2023 Bookclubs successfully hosted in Eswatini with participants now calling for more (“A Woman is God’s Secret Weapon” published by Stephanie Plaajies and “Get and Get Out” published by Thandi Makoni).
- 2024 Stories gathered for publishing of the 1st African Pearls book.
- 2025 Rebranding of African Pearls to Perrls as the Lords Queens are not just African. Intercessory mandate added to the publishing aspiration. Perrls founders also decided to add a missing element to the book publishing work by adding intercession.
